Following increased demand, Emirates has announced that its third-daily Sydney to Dubai service will recommence from October 2, 2011, and be operated by a new, larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Emirates flight EK415 departs early morning at 0600 from Sydney, enabling passengers to arrive in destinations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa within the same day of travel. The return flight EK414 departs Dubai at 0140, arriving in Sydney at 2230.
The service, previously operated by a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, was suspended last month, following a reorganisation of services and reallocation of aircraft by Emirates internationally.
“With demand for our Sydney flights continuing to grow, the return of the third-daily Sydney service is welcome news for our staff, travel partners and customers in Sydney,” said Emirates Vice President Australasia, Barry Brown.
“The Boeing 777-300ER which will operate from 2nd October offers both much needed capacity growth for this service and stunning onboard products, including First Class Private Suites, lie-flat seats in Business Class, spacious Economy Class and more than 1200 channels on Emirates’ in-flight entertainment system ICE,” he said.
As with all Emirates’ flights, passengers will also enjoy complimentary gourmet food and beverages, generous baggage allowances of up to 30kg in Economy Class, and fully inclusive pricing in all classes.
The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will be configured with eight Private Suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 304 Economy Class seats, increasing capacity on Emirates’ flights between Sydney and Dubai by 41 per cent.
This announcement accompanies a series of capacity increases for Emirates’ Australasian services this year, including the introduction of Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on Perth services, Boeing 777-300ERs on Melbourne services, and a Boeing 777-300ER being deployed to Brisbane on January 1.
In the past two years Emirates has increased its capacity to Australia by an average of 25 per cent annually. This has included the launch of third-daily Melbourne and Sydney services and a second-daily Brisbane service.
The change in aircraft on the Perth-Dubai route is designed to increase the quality of service and create a consistent product on the route, according to Emirates Sales Manager Western Australia, Darren Tyrrell.
“The new aircraft signifies the airline’s dedication to providing passengers with the highest quality service and travel experience, and its commitment to the Western Australian market,” Tyrrell said.
“Western Australians are avid travellers and we are proud to offer them access to a superior product regardless of their chosen class of travel.
“The introduction of the new aircraft will ensure an enhanced and consistent travel experience for Emirates’ passengers to Dubai, and beyond to 108 destinations worldwide including 25 European cities.
“The early morning service also allows Emirates flyers to have breakfast in Perth, lunch in Dubai and dinner in Europe,” he said.
From last Thursday (Dec 2), a Boeing 777-200LR (long range) commenced flights on Emirates’ early morning service (EK425) to Dubai, creating a consistent aircraft product with Emirates’ evening service (EK421), which has already received the aircraft.
The B777-200LR is specifically designed for medium to long-haul flights. Its luxurious onboard features include Private Suites in First Class, flat-beds in Business Class, spacious seating for Economy Class travellers, and an expanded in-flight entertainment system with over 1,200 channels available.
The aircraft is configured with eight Private Suites in First Class, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats, and 216 Economy Class seats. Passengers travelling across all cabin classes will experience the benefits of this aircraft with premium seating and in-flight entertainment.
