Brisbane: getting back to normal

Choice Hotels Australasia (CHA) announced they will donate AUD$14,281 to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Fund.

The fundraising effort was kicked off by Choice Hotels franchisees Janine McBride and James Shone who operate Comfort Inn on Raglan at Warrnambool in Victoria’s Western District.

The couple felt very passionately about the hardships that Queensland flood victims were experiencing and urged Choice hotel Franchisees to get behind the cause.

“Janine and Jim felt they really had to act, so put forward $500 and asked us at head office to get the whole group mobilised,” said CHA Chief Executive Officer David Bayes.

“The money came in quickly from Franchisees right around the network in Australia, as well as our head office in Melbourne. It was a wonderful gesture by a hard working couple and a wonderful response from their fellow Franchisees.”

Bayes joins political and industry leaders around Australia in urging Australians to visit and holiday in flood hit regions in Eastern Queensland, northern NSW and north-western Victoria.
