With one week to go until nominations close for the 2011 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, now is the last chance to enter the industry’s premier awards event.
The 2011 HM Awards are open to staff and properties across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, and nominations close at 5pm on Friday June 17, 2011.
Entering the HM Awards is a simple, ten-minute process and for the first time is being done entirely online at www.hmawards.com.au
A record 48 HM Awards will be awarded in 2011 and recognise excellence over a range of categories, spanning people, departments, properties and chains.
“The HM Awards are about the staff that excel in properties and don’t simply focus on the bricks, mortar, king size beds and goose-down pillows like many other ceremonies,” said James Wilkinson, Managing Editor of HM (Hotel & Accommodation Management) magazine.
“It’s the people that make hotels what they are and that’s why we believe they should receive the most recognition.”
Annually, over 600 different properties are nominated in the HM Awards. After a lengthy voting process by a key judging panel involving 50 industry professionals and travel media, the finalists and winners are then decided.
In the last eight years, almost 3600 people have attended the HM Awards and more than 300 awards have been awarded to hotels across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
