Novotel Wellington unveils new rooms

Novotel Wellington new roomWith thousands of international visitors set to flock to New Zealand’s cultural capital this summer, Novotel Wellington is ready to welcome guests to its new look hotel rooms following the completion of a major refurbishment project.

Novotel Wellington now has some of the newest, freshest and most innovative 4-star accommodation in the city thanks to an interior makeover of all 139 rooms.

The new rooms have been designed to reflect the vibrant local arts community with fabulous new beds, designer headboards with bright splashes of colour, bold feature artwork, and even red glass splashbacks in the bathrooms to give a wow factor to the clean, white interiors.

Rooms have been given the ‘Novotel Next’ touch – a new design concept which has already proven very popular at the award-winning Novotel Auckland Airport hotel. Integrated connectivity panels which enable portable digital devices to connect to the television, iPod docking stations and wireless internet access have been added to cater to the growing number of tech-savvy travellers.

The advanced in-room Next connectivity panel means that guests can now plug-in and work like they would in the office or be entertained by their own music, movies and games as they would at home.

The new Executive Rooms on Level 10 provide guests with a heightened hotel experience featuring complimentary Nespresso coffee, bottled mineral water daily, comfy bathrobe and slippers, upgraded bathroom amenities, free wireless internet and local telephone calls, plus bonus Bluetooth connection with the Next connectivity panel.

As part of the hotel’s multimillion dollar makeover, the innovative Next rooms are spacious and have been designed with a number of features to enhance the travel experience. New, contemporary furniture allow guests to re-position items to suit their needs, so a side table can be easily moved to become a place to dine, work or read.

The interior decor is accented by a timeless colour scheme in earthy browns, contrasted with white, and highlighted with bold splashes of red and orange.

Novotel Wellington General Manager Philip Hilton said the refurbishment is a great boost to Wellington tourism and has been completed just in time for major city events.

“For a decade now Novotel Wellington has been one of the leading 4-star hotels in New Zealand’s capital, particularly for domestic and a large number of international guests and we intend to remain competitive in this space,” he said.

“The refurbishment combined with the hotel’s central city location on The Terrace places us in a winning position to cater to the influx of travellers coming to the city for major events such as the World Premiere of Peter Jackson’s latest blockbuster film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

“Our new Executive Rooms which boast up-to-the-minute connectivity and sweeping views of the harbour or city are tipped to be a popular choice for business and leisure travellers this summer.”

Alongside Novotel’s new Next rooms, Caucus Restaurant and Bar offers local diners and hotel guests fresh, contemporary New Zealand cuisine in a relaxed, intimate setting. A delectable range of local and regional produce and world-class wines are on the menu together with variety of balanced meal choices.

Perfectly located on The Terrace with direct lift access to Lambton Quay, Novotel Wellington provides the perfect base for holidaymakers and corporate guests to explore the city’s many popular attractions and vibrant waterfront precinct.
