Quest Whyalla

Quest WhyallaThe new, AUD$11 million Quest Whyalla was officially unveiled last night (Nov 8 ) by Lyn Breuer, South Australia’s state member for Giles, significant boosting the region’s accommodation bank.

Andrew Weisz, General Manager – Locations, Quest Serviced Apartments highlighted the partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission as key to getting the project off the ground.

“We worked closely with the South Australian Tourism Commission from the project’s inception – looking at the area, the current market and the future growth.  There is a large, undersupplied market here – drawn by the long term development of the resource industry, and the subsequent significant infrastructure investment,” he said.

The 4.5-star property is centrally located on the corner of Moran and Ian Streets in close proximity to the airport, Westlands Shopping Centre and Civic Park.

Quest Whyalla Franchisees Jennifer McDonnell and Daniel Wilson said they were pleased to be opening their second Quest property in the area because of the strong demand for quality self-contained accommodation in Whyalla.

“We have seen the ongoing rise in demand from extended stay business travellers through our time as Franchisees at Quest Whyalla Playford,” McDonnell said

“More and more people are coming to Whyalla to work and base themselves here for extended periods.  The support from the local community for our second venture, catering to this growth, has been exceptional.”

Breuer said Quest Whyalla is a significant development for both the business and leisure tourism markets.

“The delivery of new 4.5 star rooms, such as Quest Whyalla, is an important step in helping to attract high yield experience seekers to the region,” she said.

“I am delighted to see Quest’s development in Whyalla, which will contribute to the overall appeal of the region.”

In line with the launch, the evening also marked the beginning of a relationship between Quest and The Rotary Club of Whyalla, with the presentation of an initial donation of AUD$2,000.

Quest Whyalla has 56 studio, one and two bedroom apartments.   Each apartment is fully equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, Austar, WiFi and multi unit desk chargers.  Studios have kitchenettes and access to laundry facilities.
