Roger Brantsma has been appointed as general manager for Hilton Auckland and Hilton Lake Taupo.

“I am delighted with the opportunity which Hilton provided me to returning to Australasia, and to be working in Auckland and Lake Taupo,” Brantsma said. “Both hotels are well established in their markets, and I very much look forward to be working with the teams in the hotels and to further strengthen the overall performance of both hotels. In the upcoming months I look forward to enhancing the service delivery of our products to our guests.

“Both hotels are in unique locations and offer excellent accommodation and our Simon Gault signature restaurants FISH and Bistro Lago offer great culinary experiences,”

Originally from The Netherlands, Brantsma has been traveling, working and living in several countries of completely different cultures since 2002. His hotel career started in food and beverage at Hilton Amsterdam before his international journey kicked off with Hilton Dubai Jumeirah in Middle East and continued with Hilton Sharks Bay Resort in Egypt, as director of operations in 2005.

South East Asia was on Brantsma’s map with Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort and Spa in Thailand before his excellent leadership skills were rewarded in 2009 with the appointment as director of operations for the area’s flagship hotel, Hilton Sydney.

In 2011, Brantsma was promoted to the role of general manager for the new Hilton Chennai in India. In just over a year Brantsma positioned the hotel and achieved excellent market penetration scores, as well as led the hotel team to several award wins, including ‘Best Debutant Hotel’ at the Audi Ritz Icon Awards.
