QT Gold Coast Hotel Lobby

AHL has revealed the QT Canberra is set to open in early April on the site of the company’s Lakeside hotel in New Acton.

After a significant refurbishment and rebrand, the 200-room property will feature QT’s design hallmarks that have been seen across Australia over the last two years.

Renowned designer Nic Graham has again been responsible for the remodelled exterior and interior of the property, one that AHL says will “embrace new technology, distinctive art and cutting edge design”.

While no images have yet been released, AHL says the interior embraces the hotel’s political history, having seen Prime Ministers made and ousted.

“The unique designer space celebrates this history through bold design, a mix of quirky artefacts, bespoke furniture, a daring use of colour and art, and the ultimate food and beverage offering,” AHL says.

A number of leading suppliers have been involved in the project, including Prototype Commercial Furniture for chairs, tables, custom upholstery, bedheads and more.

Heading up the food side is QT Hotels’ Creative Food Director, Robert Marchetti, who is creating a concept restaurant featuring top wines and a menu of bistro classics with an Italian twist.
