InterContinental Fiji Malomalo Village's Vale ni Vanua - EDITED

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa has initiated a new community project, the Vale ni Vanua Tour in partnership with Malomalo village.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to include another ‘In The Know’ experience for our guests to share Fiji’s heritage with the world,” says Jacob Pau’u, Training Manager of the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.

“Profits from this tour are donated to Malomalo village. We are proud to contribute to the local community and assist, as we are known as the People’s Resort.”

The ‘Vale ni Vanua’, newly built as an ode to the country’s rich heritage and the heart of a traditional Fijian village, is a piece of Fijian history rarely found in Fiji’s modern day communities.

The ‘Vale ni Vanua Tour’ was launched on May 1 during the Fiji school holidays and the hotel is looking forward to sharing a wonderful and authentic experience with their guests.

The ‘Vale ni Vanua’ has been constructed entirely from natural resources and with age-old techniques and is one-of-its-kind in the region. Guests get to experience an authentic kava ceremony (sevusevu) and learn about Fijian history. The building’s functions include the welcoming of chiefs, discussion of official village matters and kava ceremonies. It is where villagers come together and communicate as a whole.

Our new ‘In The Know’ experience aspires for their guests to discover the authenticity and inspirational diverse culture of Fiji with a suite of activities such as our Navo Cave Tour, Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple and Sigatoka Hare Krishna Tour.
