Sydney Olympic Park seeks hotel - EDITED

On the back of increased visitor numbers, Sydney Olympic Park says there is demand for a new hotel on the site.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority is seeking responses from well-credentialed hotel operators and developers to create a new hotel of design excellence standard.

The hotel is set to be in a prime location in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park, near the growing business and residential hub on the corner of Australia and Murray Rose Avenues.

The site also benefits from its close proximity to local cafes, restaurants, public transport, parklands, exhibition facilities and sports venues.

Proponents will bid to secure the development rights to the land and will be able to construct, own and operate the facility for a 99-year-term.

Sydney Olympic Park hosts almost 6,000 events each year that draw millions of national and international visitors.

Tender documents can be found on the NSW government website (https://tenders.nsw.gov.au) with the closing date for detailed submissions on 23 September 2014.
