Hans Jorg Meier Como Hotels edited

Como Hotels and Resorts has appointed Hans Jörg Meier as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Como Hotels and Resorts, effective January 19, 2015.

Meier, who has over 30 years’ experience, joins Como from his current position as Senior Vice President at GHM Hotels.

His career has spanned Europe, Southeast Asia, North Asia and the United States and he has held leadership roles with Swissôtel Group, Raffles Hotels and Resorts and Peninsula Hotels.

“We have much to benefit from Meier’s experience in both resort and urban hotels, in developed and developing countries,” said Mrs Christina Ong, Founder of Como Hotels and Resorts.

“I have every confidence he will build on Fasel’s good work to steer Como Hotels and Resorts into the future, building strong teams and delivering memorable experiences for guests.”

Meier will take up the mantle from Kuno Fasel, Como’s founding COO of 15 years. Fasel has spent most of his 33 years in hospitality with the Group, first as General Manager at the Four Seasons Montreal.

Under his helm, Como has grown from its first property, The Halkin by Como, to 12 award winning properties across seven countries. His passion for service, cuisine and wellness forms the bedrock of what Como offers to guests.

Meier will be in charge of all executive, management and operational responsibilities for Como Hotels and Resorts.
