Lizard Island Resort’s $45 million makeover is now complete.

The full opening marks the end of a 16-month renovation process after damage caused by cyclones Ita and Nathan.

“The opening of the Marlin Bar marks the completion of the resort’s $45 million refurbishment,” said executive director of Australian Parks and Resorts at Delaware North Companies Greg Magi.

“The tireless efforts of our staff and partners over the past 16 months sees us in a really solid and exciting position to re-establish Lizard Island as a world leader in luxurious resort accommodation,” he said.

The completed Marlin Bar is the latest addition to the refurbishment and the opening of the island’s bar is perfectly timed, with the waters surrounding the island due to welcome Marlin from all over the pacific throughout the next two weeks.

The Villa, representing the ultimate in aspirational luxury, was also revealed throughout the refurbishment. The indulgent space features two bedrooms, both with en-suites, the master with a luxury bath, a spacious lounge with butler’s kitchen and an expansive outdoor area. Both The Villa and the stunning Sunset Point Plunge Pool Villas boast a private plunge pool for an added element of luxury for guests. All room types host Hecker Guthrie interiors, achieving the perfect balance of subtle sophistication and understated elegance.

The announcement of a partnership between the resort’s Essentia Day Spa and Parisian skincare range, La Biosthetique, has been another highlight of the resort’s revamp.
