SilverNeedle Hospitality has been announced as the accommodation operator of the $35 million Queens Arms pub redevelopment in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

The hotel, expected to open in the second quarter of 2017, will be branded Sage Hotel James Street, Fortitude Valley. The new-build will comprise four levels with 93 rooms reflecting 4.5-star comfort, along with secure basement car parking, coffee shop, restaurant, as well as a boutique wine cellar on the ground level.

“After an extensive operator selection process, Sage Hotels was chosen as the winning brand,” Russell McCart, Brisbane-based developer and Managing Director of Pacifica.

“The team at SilverNeedle have an entrepreneur mind-set with a business philosophy and vision of understanding cohesive integration of smart-technology that can enhance accommodation experience, these fundamentals are best aligned with our vision for the future.”

The adjoining iconic pub, the Queens Arms, will be revitalised with a substantial makeover at the same time to make this precinct the most exciting part of the Fortitude Valley and Newstead area.

The suburb is regarded as stylish and hip surrounded by boutiques, art galleries and high end homeware stores all sitting amongst tree lined streets with cafes and restaurants on every corner.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership to deliver a brand new Sage Hotel to Brisbane,” SilverNeedle Hospitality Group Area Vice-President of Business Development Tushar Raniga.

“This will provide business and leisure travellers with convenient accommodation at Fortitude Valley. The project will be delivered in collaboration with Pacifica and appointed builders Hutchinson Builders, the same builders who were appointed for our sister brand, Next hotel on Queen Street Mall in Brisbane.” said

The news comes just days after SilverNeedle revealed it will be the hotel operator at Wallaroo Shores, a landmark $220 million tourism and residential development set to reinvigorate South Australia’s regional economy and create 2200 jobs.

Branded as Sage Wallaroo Shores, the 100 apartment boutique resort boasts luxury amenities, a cinema, swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis courts, function centre and café.

Sage Wallaroo Shores Resort, nestled between the historic Copper Coast township of Wallaroo and the pristine shores of Spencer Gulf just 90 minutes’ drive north of Adelaide, overlooks 18 hectares of prime beachfront land and becomes part of a world-class tourist destination.

“We are honoured to be part of this exciting development,” Raniga said.
