Industry superannuation fund Intrust Super has won Money magazine’s ‘Best of the Best’ Value Insurance in Superannuation award for the fourth year in a row.

Intrust Super CEO Brendan O’Farrell said the success in this category “reflects the quality of insurance it offers in all key areas such as life insurance, total and permanent disability cover and income protection”.

He said that winning the prestigious award for the fourth consecutive year “demonstrates the continual focus on, and dedication to, the wellbeing of members”.

“The higher insurance costs of some funds will negate any good returns they are seeing in their investment earnings,” O’Farrell said.

“Not only are we protecting our members with superior insurance cover; we are also ensuring our premiums are competitive so the retirement savings of members aren’t heavily impacted.”

Money magazine said: “Standout income protection, life and total permanent disability insurance have won Intrust Super the gold award for the fourth straight year.

“Intrust [Super’s] PayGuard income protection has generous features that are hard to go past.”

O’Farrell said that Intrust Super endeavoured to be “strong in all areas to ensure its members received the best service” and he thanked Money magazine for again “acknowledging the Fund’s hard work”.

Products are assessed on both qualitative and quantitative measures. These include insurance rates, terms and conditions and automatic acceptance levels.

Intrust Super adds this award to its recent 10 year Platinum fund rating designated by SuperRatings earlier in the year.
