SilverNeedle Group is set to open a new Sage Hotel in West Perth, May 2016 in partnership with local Perth private property development and investment group, Australian Development Capital (ADC).

This will be ADC’s first Hotel investment and the AUD$35 million dollar development signals the Sage Hotel brand entry into the upscale hotel segment in Perth.

The 1902 historical Walsh Family residence will be the centrepiece of the development after being transformed. The landmark heritage-listed building sits on the corner of Ventnor Avenue and Hay Street. For many years it housed Julio’s restaurant – well known for its rich and famous clientele from global music performers to colourful business identities.

Working with original features and in keeping with SilverNeedle’s commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, Julio’s will highlight restored original balustrade, Jarrah floorboards and heritage fireplaces, dating back to early last century.

Adjacent will be the newly constructed 101 guest rooms and multiple meeting spaces. The hotel will offer 24-hour room service with options to dine in-house for breakfast, lunch or dinner, bringing a much needed amenity back into the area.

“Both Australian Development Capital and the SilverNeedle team had the vision of creating a modern hotel that will incorporate elements of the heritage building to provide a unique accommodation offering for the inner city market. We saw this as a great opportunity in West Perth,” said Cameron Stewart, Managing Director of SilverNeedle Group.

“Ultimately, Sage will be our strongest growth brand in the upscale hotel segment over time,” he said.

SilverNeedle and ADC are actively working together committed in developing a hotel that features latest building innovations with consideration of sustainability and environmental impact. In the case of Sage West Perth, they collaborated with The Hickory Group to develop prefabricated all Australian-made guest Sync bathrooms.

All guest bathrooms were architecturally custom designed and manufactured off site on a subassembly line, then installed and connected on arrival to site. The process is accurately integrated into the construction sequence allowing a reduction in project development by up to 30%.

This process offers better sustainability characteristics over traditional construction due to reduced material requirements and wastage.

The design guards against leaks with all fabrication fully tested before they leave the factory, guaranteeing less maintenance issues down the line. Designed with kerlite finishes and stone bench tops creates a sleek designer look.

Another SilverNeedle commitment is access to high speed wifi, not only is this available across all SilverNeedle hotels but is complimentary in public areas and guest rooms, an absolute necessity for today’s leisure and business traveller.

Sage Hotels promotes their ‘fair value promise’ with prices of mini-bar offerings and laundry services comparable to those of local convenience stores and laundromats.
