AccorHotels has announced several new general manager appointments in Australia.
Nathan Frost has been appointed Area General Manger Operations Western Australia. Nathan is a graduate of the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School and joined AccorHotels in 2000 as restaurant Supervisor at Mercure Sydney. He later completed a Hotel Management Traineeship before partaking in AccorHotels National Management Traineeship (now AELP) the following year. On completion of his Traineeship, Nathan held a number of Executive Assistant Manager positions before taking his first General Manager placement with ibis Budget Auckland in 2007. In September 2013, Nathan moved back to Australia as General Manager of ibis Adelaide, where he was tasked with managing the pre-opening of the region’s largest ibis. In May 2016 Nathan moved into his most recent position as General Manager, Novotel Canberra.
Melinda Lampier has been appointed General Manager, The Como Melbourne, MGallery by Sofitel, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in hotel operational and sales and marketing roles. Melinda has worked within a number of notable hotel chains including Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Sheraton, Starwood, and most recently IHG, as General Manager, Hotel Indigo Bangkok.
Chris Stocklinger has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Styles Kununurra. Chris possesses strong operational experience with previous roles including General Manager, Southbank Apartments Melbourne, Bali Hai Resort and Spa, Cable Beach WA and Broome Beach Resort. Chris’ most recent position, and where he stated his career with AccorHotels in May 2016, was Duty Manager Ibis Melbourne Swanston Street.
Taylor Canham has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Budget Gosford. Taylor started with AccorHotels in April 2010 as a Food and Beverage Attendant at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort, before progressing to Purchasing Officer in June 2011. From July 2012, Taylor worked as a Night Manager for The Menzies before joining Ibis Budget Gosford in November 2016.
Bilal Ahmed has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Budget Dubbo. Bilal first joined AccorHotels in August 2015 as a Receptionist for Ibis Budget Dubbo and has since taken over as General Manager. Bilal has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked previously at Travelodge in the United Kingdom.
