Sofitel Wellington is set to reopen its doors in October 2017 and welcome back its original opening team following a temporary closure.

Sofitel Wellington General Manager, Stephen Gould, said the 129-room Sofitel’s return has been highly anticipated.

“We are so excited to reopen our doors and pick up where we left off, offering Wellington locals, Kiwi travellers and tourists alike a place to relax and enjoy in a refined environment with a sophisticated ambience,” he said.

“It is important for us to resume our reputation as one of the capital’s finest hotels where guests come first.

“We are excited to once again see the hotel buzzing with activity and we have some great events planned for our welcome back, including stimulating talks, live music and culinary events which should really attract the local and international market,” he said.

With a wine list curated by New Zealand’s premiere wine authority John Saker, and menu designed by culinary star Royxeenn Giam, the hotel’s restaurant, Jardin Grill, promises to be a staple for locals and guests and has an imaginative menu based around the grill.

The Green Room lounge and bar lives up to its name with Bolton Street’s verdant gardens viewable through expansive floor to ceiling glass walls.
