Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu has officially welcomed its first guests to one of the archipelago’s most diverse resorts after a 15-month, AUD$12 million renovation and refurbishment.
The first Holiday Inn Resort in Australasia, Holiday Inn Vanuatu follows IHG’s (InterContinental Hotels Group) expansion of its resorts portfolio for the Holiday Inn brand, including the successful launches of the Holiday Inn Resort Baruna, Bali and the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma in the Maldives.
Tucked between 60 acres of tropical palms and nestled against the shores of a private beach, the resort oasis offers affordable luxury with Melanesian charm surrounded by the coral reefs, hot springs, rainforests and waterfalls of Vanuatu.
Located a short 5-minute drive from Vanuatu’s capital, Port Vila, Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu is an all-inclusive destination for couples, families, weddings and conferencing groups with a range of on-site facilities and activities and over 140 guest rooms including suites and overwater villas.
“With its private, convenient location surrounded by Vanuatu’s spectacular rainforests and lagoons, the new Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu has undergone a full revitalization,” said Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu general manager, Thomas Tait.
“The resort offers guests a holiday experience that combines the best of modern western technology and comfort with authentic Melanesian touches and we’re proud to open the first Holiday Inn Resort in the region.”
The resort opening follows the global hotel brand’s $1 billion refresh program, which saw more than 1,200 Holiday Inn hotels world-wide receiving upgrades to public areas and guest rooms.
