Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific has won the Brisbane Airport and Hawaiian Airlines Corporate Surf Challenge, held at Duranbah on the Gold Coast.
The annual corporate surf challenge is a unique corporate event, designed to ‘bring the surfer out of the suit’ in the name of a good cause.
The event raises funds for the Royal Flying Doctors Service, which is an invaluable Australian organisation delivering 24 hour emergency services across the country.
The Gold Coast delivered great weather and good contestable conditions. Former World Surfing Champion, Mark Occhilupo was auctioned off to surf in one of the teams, and saw him go to the highest bidder, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific.
The teams hit the water early and by the end of the day four remaining teams battled for the title – Ray White New Farm, Bistech, CBRE Industrial and Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific.
Wyndham took out the trophy following some impressive surfing against a very competitive field.
In just four years of running, the event has raised more than $100,000 for the Royal Flying Doctors service, with over $27,000 dollars raised at this year’s event.
