This month, Accor Australia has announced the following movers and shakers who have landed new roles within Australia’s largest network of hotels.
D’orne Fitzpatrick has been appointed General Manager, The Sebel Resort Noosa. She began her hospitality career in 2004 in Brisbane and has gained extensive experience at Ayers Rock Resort and Coffs Harbour, NSW. D’orne joined Accor in 2011 at the Mercure & Ibis Brisbane and was most recently employed as Rooms Division Manager.
Victoria Deak has been appointed General Manager, Ibis Sydney Thornleigh. Victoria joined Accor in 2000 at The Menzies Sydney as a Front Office Manager. Victoria has since worked in various Front Office and Conference & Events roles at hotels such as Sofitel Gold Coast, Sydney Olympic Park, Mercure Sydney and The Fairmont Resort. In August 2013, Victoria was appointed to her most recent role as Hotel Operations Manager at the Ibis Sydney Airport.
Antony Platford has been appointed General Manager, Novotel Melbourne on Collins. Antony first joined Accor in 1995 and was an Executive Assistant Manager at Novotel Atrium Darwin followed by Novotel Melbourne on Collins. After briefly leaving Accor in 2000, Antony returned in January 2001 on a 6 month project as a Sales & Marketing Manager before commencing his first General Manager role at Ibis Melbourne, followed by an Executive Assistant Manager role at Sofitel Melbourne in April 2004. In June 2005 Antony relocated to China as the General Manager of Sofitel Xanadu Hangzhou. He was General Manager of Novotel Century Hong Kong before being promoted to his most recent role as Vice President Operations – Greater China.
Hayden Hughes has been appointed General Manager Ibis Budget Brand, General Manager Ibis Sydney Airport. Hayden joined Accor in April 2002 as a Front Office Manager at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort. Hayden joins the Ibis Brand with a solid background in rooms division and management roles at hotels such as Novotel Twin Waters, Grand Mercure Suites Mackay, Sofitel Gold Coast and Sofitel Brisbane. Hayden was appointed in his most recent role as General Manager, Novotel Melbourne on Collins in May 2010.
Paul Fidock has joined the team at Pullman Melbourne Albert Park as Senior Business Development Manager – Conference and Events. Previous to this appointment, Paul established his own business Portfolio Hospitality in 2009 as a niche MICE representation company driving and developing business opportunities for clients within the Melbourne market. Paul commenced his hospitality career in Adelaide before relocating to Melbourne where he held a number of sales and marketing positions at catering company Fred & Ginger, Park Hyatt Melbourne, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas & Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast and Stamford Hotels & Resorts NSW.
Also at Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, Edwina Mason is staying on as Director of Sales & Marketing – Conference & Events while Emma Parker will return following maternity leave to the position of Associate Director of Sales – Conference & Events having previously held the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at the hotel.
