Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) has this week announced a new industry partnership with Crown Resorts in Melbourne and Perth.
The new agreement will see Crown Resorts join the ranks of BMIHMS’ Graduate Privileged Partner Program (GPP), a competitive recruitment initiative designed to connect top final year students with a select group of industry partners, including major hotel chains, boutique properties, resorts and event companies.
With strict criteria for academic performance, practical skills training and industry experience and evaluation, successful GPP candidates are selected and recommended to industry partners based on their suitability for Graduate Career pathways upon graduation.
Crown Resorts joins a prestigious group of brands already associated with the program, including Accor, Sofitel, Marriott, TFE Hotels, Four Seasons, Hyatt, IHG and Starwood.
BMIHMS General Manager, Jerome Casteigt, said the School was thrilled to announce Crown as the latest brand to join the GPP.
“The GPP provides a unique opportunity for the hospitality industry to recruit and guide our top graduates towards senior hotel management roles in the future,” he said.
“The addition of Crown to an already outstanding group of industry partners will further cement our position as the number one hotel management school in Australia and Asia Pacific. We look forward to working with them and continuing to expand our GPP network in the future,” Casteigt said.
Crown Recruitment Group Manager, Rachel Larmour, said that Crown Resorts echoed the sentiments of Casteigt.
“We are an equal opportunity employer offering a diverse range of career opportunities for graduates wishing to continue their professional development. The standard of BMIHMS graduates fits our high service standards and we are confident that the partnership will deliver job ready candidates,” she said.
Representatives from Crown joined the other GPP partners at the BMIHMS GPP Careers Expo this week at the Sydney campus. The event, held twice a year in Leura and Sydney, gives students the best possible opportunity to meet and network with GPP partners and secure industry placements and graduate opportunities directly.
“At the event, we saw strong interest from our students to be considered for Crown Resorts’ employment opportunities. The program has proven to be an ongoing success, ensuring a strong relationship between students and potential employers far beyond the normal interview process,”
Casteigt said.
“It’s a fantastic initiative and one we believe is responsible for the very high employment rate amongst BMIHMS graduates,” he said.
