Qantas is set to add more than 140 flights between December and February to New Zealand, Jakarta, and Singapore to cater for strong demand during the upcoming summer holiday season.
In addition to the 15 seasonal services from Sydney to Christchurch and Queenstown already on sale, Qantas will add an extra 95 return services to New Zealand during the peak holiday travel season.
This includes 48 return services between Brisbane and Christchurch and 36 return services between Brisbane and Wellington from 3 December 2015 to 22 February 2016.
From 30 November 2015 to 21 February 2016, Qantas will operate a daily service from Perth to Singapore, giving customers more choice when flying between the two cities.
Qantas will also add a fifth weekly service between Sydney and Jakarta from 7 December 2015 to 10 January 2016.
Qantas Executive Manager International Sales, Stephen Thompson, said the additional services would provide customers with more choice over the peak holiday season.
“A key part of our strategy is listening to and responding to our customers’ needs and developing an agile and flexible network which offers more options during peak periods,” said Thompson.
“We are really pleased to be able to meet demand for travel between Brisbane and both Wellington and Christchurch with the return of direct services during December and January. It’s with the support of the teams at Brisbane, Christchurch and Wellington Airports that these new seasonal services have been made possible.
“Our additional services to Singapore and Jakarta are also good news for customers travelling to destinations across Asia, with the daily frequency between Perth and Singapore over the holidays confirming that our decision to return to this route was the right one,” he said.
