Crystalbrook Collection has today opened ‘Riley’ – the first of three five-star newbuild resorts in Cairns which form part of a major expansion for the upmarket lifestyle accommodation group.
Management joined with the 170 staff today in opening the resort, which is located at the northern end of the Cairns esplanade, and its first guests to check-in.
Across the multi-storey resort are 311 rooms and suites, built around a 1,000 sqm lagoon-style swimming pool, artificial beach and secluded cabanas which are available for rent.
Each room is fitted with a Google Chromecast device to allow guests to stream their personal media on in-room televisions. Additional entertainment is also available via an internal system offering hundreds of movies and box sets available on demand.
At opening, only one of the resort’s three restaurants is open, with guests able to enjoy ‘Paper Crane’, a modern Asian restaurant and bar. Two further eateries are scheduled to open by 20 December 2018, these being the Mediterranean-inspired ‘Rocco’, which the hotel says is the first rooftop bar to be opened in Cairns. Finally, guests can also indulge at ‘Greenfields’, which focuses on raw delicacies and simple handmade recipes.
Late December will also see guests able to access the Eléme Day Spa and 24-hour fitness centre. An electronic self-booking tour centre is also available in the lobby to help guests find exciting things to do in the tropical North Queensland city.
Crystalbrook Collection CEO Mark Davie labelled the event a “momentous day” for the group.
“It’s fantastic to finally welcome our first guests and to see everybody enjoying the resort.”
Last month, Crystalbrook Collection expanded its reach to Sydney, acquiring the boutique Little Albion Guest House from 8Hotels. Over the next 14 months, the group will open two more resorts in Cairns – Bailey and Flynn – with all three located near to each other in central Cairns.
Crystalbrook has released an exciting video showcasing the arrival of Riley. Check it out here.
