DoubleTree by Hilton’s brand debut in Western Australia will see a long-serving Hilton stalwart installed as the property’s opening General Manager, Hilton announced today.
On track to open just before the end of 2018, DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge will feature 24-year Hilton veteran Tamer ElGhamry, who moves to the property having most recently served as Director of Operations at Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa. He will be joined by Rebecca D’Costa as Commercial Manager and Kevin Garcia as Head Chef at the property’s main restaurant – James St Bar & Kitchen.
The SKS Group-owned property is DoubleTree’s first new-build in Australia and first in Western Australia. Offering 206 rooms and the James St eatery, hotel facilities will also include an executive lounge, fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool and bar and 310 square metres of event space. The hotel is located close to Yagan Square, Elizabeth Quay and RAC Arena as well as plentiful dining and shopping options nearby.
Prior to his post in Fiji, ElGhamry served in similar roles at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing and prior to that at Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort in Egypt.
Overseeing the team will be David Constantine, whose current role as General Manager at Parmelia Hilton Perth will be expanded to include the new DoubleTree in a cluster, or regional, capacity. D’Costa joins from the same hotel, while Garcia moves to Perth having most recently led two restaurants at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs.
“We are delighted to welcome our newly appointed executive team into their roles at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge,” said Hilton Australasia VP Operations, Heidi Kunkel.
“It is wonderful to see team members Tamer, Rebecca and Kevin continue their Hilton journey, and we look forward to seeing them bring their knowledge and experience to this exciting new property.”
