Global boutique hotel collective Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has added a new Australian member in the newly-opened Ovolo The Valley in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
The 103-room hotel has been added to the SLH booking engine and will go on sale through the system tomorrow, 21 December, 2018. At present, Ovolo The Valley is the company’s only property to join the SLH group.
Ovolo The Valley, which opened late last month, has been designed by Woods Bagot, who envisaged their layout for the new hotel based on the hotel’s direction to create “a whimsical oasis of colour and art” with touches of quirkiness.
Principal Designer Bronwyn McColl said the hotel’s design reflected its surroundings and incorporated elements of the colourful and bustling laneways, complete with hints of eclectic bars and galleries.
Ovolo Australia COO/CFO Dave Baswal said he was very pleased to be able to add the hotel to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection.
“We know our guests appreciate our independent spirit and because of this, we continue to appeal to the independently-minded with a zest for life,” Baswal said.
“We’re excited to continue to work with Small Luxury Hotels Of The World, as we believe they’re the perfect fit given their customer profile and overall company values and ethos.”
SLH acts as a booking service for small and boutique hotels around the world who may not necessarily have the resources to operate or manage their own independent booking and marketing operations themselves. The collective currently comprises more than 520 hotels in 80 countries and requires all prospective members to adhere to a strict standard of luxury and high customer service.
