Neighbourhood immersion brand, Hotel Indigo, will make its debut in Japan next week with InterContinental Hotels Group set to launch the boutique label in the mountainous Gora region, between Yokohama and Shizuoka.
Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora will feature 98 guest rooms, multiple dining outlets themed on elememts and a revitalising onsen mineral bath, adhering to the Japanese custom, as part of a larger spa facility. Rooms overlooking the Haya River will include a private open-air bath designed to take advantage of the crisp mountain air.
A number of local experiences designed to take in the local neighbourhood, which will see the hotel partner with local organisations for cultural immersion, will be revealed soon after opening.
“The all-day dining restaurant has been influenced by the element of ‘fire’, while the lounge bar will offer creative cocktails and local beverages inspired by ‘water’, transporting guests to a world of epicurean delight with locally-grown ingredients,” IHG said.
