The Australian Revenue Management Association (ARMA) is inviting accommodation and hospitality industry professionals to invest in their skills during the market slowdown through a newly launched digital business certification service.
The eSkillsHUB system, now available via the ARMA website, offers more than 30 digital business certifications, which can be completed entirely online and at the pace of the applicant. Course topics include Social Media Marketing, Writing for the Web, Social Brand Building, Objection Handling in Sales, Relationship Building, Customer Relationship Management and many more.
ARMA Founder and CEO, Melissa Kalan, says studying can be a good distraction and a productive use of time while isolated at home.
“None of us want what is currently happening in the world, and while acknowledging that the significance of the impact has affected people in different ways, this can be an opportune time for many of us to catch up on training and upskilling so you can be better prepared to maximise opportunities in the recovery.
Kalan added training should always be an important investment for hoteliers but acknowledged it was often the first thing to be cut as a cost-saving measure.
“The current situation is unprecedented and our industry is suffering heavily, so where possible, if a property can invest in their staff they will of course reap the benefits and returns over time, however – with growing and affordable quality training solutions, many professionals can also invest in their own education and career direction.”
Access to the eSkills portal is now available at a heavily reduced rate of US$47 for 12 months access.
ARMA has also opened up access to its foundation online revenue management course to encourage industry professionals to upskill and ready themselves for the eventual upturn and market recovery. Scholarships for 100 individuals are now available to both those currently working as well as those who have periodically been stood down. For more information, phone ARMA on 02 8324 1383.
