Capella Hotels and Resorts has named Marc von Arnim as General Manager of Capella Sydney.
Von Arnim has over 20 years’ experience in hospitality, including luxury hotels. Most recently, he held the General Manager role at Park Hyatt Sydney where he was credited with delivering sustainable revenue growth, strong operational performance and improving the guest experience as well as employee engagement.
“With well over 20 years in the hospitality industry and various senior leadership positions, Marc brings a wealth of experience to the group,” said Capella Hotel Group President, Cristiano Rinaldi.
“We are confident that he will excel in showcasing Capella’s legacy of personalised service to the Australian market and beyond. His extensive knowledge in Sydney’s thriving arts and cultural scene also puts him in the ideal position to develop the series of immersive experiences that Capella is known for.”
Prior to returning to Australia, Von Arnim’s roles included pre-opening General Manager of Park Hyatt Busan in Korea and General Manager of Park Hyatt Goa in India. He has also served as a board member of the board of the Tourism Accommodation Australia, NSW.
Capella Sydney will open at the historic Lands and Educations Buildings in 2023 and will comprise 192 guestrooms, 32 suites and one-bedroom suites.
Von Arnim will lead pre-openings for Capella Sydney, including recruitment and training and curating exceptional experiences.
