The highly anticipated Capella Sydney is set to open its doors on March 15, 2023, marking the brand’s Australian debut.
The former Department of Education building, which was originally designed by architect George McRae in the early 1900s, has been carefully restored and reimagined by Pontiac Land in collaboration with Make Architects.
The luxury hotel includes 192 guestrooms and suites and three ground-level food and beverage outlets – Aperture, Brasserie 1930 and McRae Bar – filled with commissioned and collected artworks and sophisticated furnishings.
Meanwhile, guestrooms feature deluxe textiles, standalone tubs, custom Italian Frette linen and exclusive Haeckels amenities.
“Capella Sydney is not just an ode to the city and Sydneysiders, it’s an open invitation for discerning travellers from all around the world to visit Australia and experience the magic of this place we call home,” said Capella Sydney General Manager, Marc von Arnim.
“The Capella brand is synonymous with luxury, excellence in the craft of hospitality and cultural immersion. Capella Sydney takes this to the next level through unparalleled experiences that go above and beyond the expected, underscored by world-class accommodation and dining.”
The hotel will feature a Capella signature space known as The Living Room, where guests can immerse themselves in local culture through a collection of artefacts, as well as a wellness spa on level six.
