IHG’s Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts brand is launching a new meetings concept for the Greater China market to better address the needs of the modern business traveller.
‘Meetings without Boundaries’ is designed to capitalise on rising demand for domestic cultural tourism and bleisure travel at time when the brand is expanding further into primary economic centres such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, as well as high-tech zones in the likes of Hangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, and Qingdao.
There are currently 115 Crowne Plaza hotels in operation in Greater China with 72 in the pipeline.
IHG Greater China Chief Marketing Officer, Florence Hu, said the concept has been based on the company’s extensive local insights.
“As a premium brand for the modern business traveller within IHG, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts has established a strong presence in the Chinese market for many years,” Hu said.
“In response to current and future trends, this new gathering concept redefines the synergy between business and leisure.
“Each journey goes beyond a mere experience. We offer guests with a dynamic space by comprehensive personalized services, effortlessly merging business with leisure to forge a distinctive voyage.”
Warm ambiance, health and safety and social connection are key considerations in the new concept that aims to move away from traditional MICE settings.
Tailored for hybrid work, the modern approach to design prioritises flexibility, interaction with others, productivity and wellbeing.
Connection to the destination is also an important factor and is delivered through diverse cuisines, local culture, or activities that can be enjoyed both solo and in teams.
