EVT is bringing its budget lifestyle brand Lylo to Australian shores with the launch of a property in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley this April.
Following the opening of three locations in New Zealand – in Auckland, Christchurch, and Queenstown – Lylo’s Queensland property will showcase its design-led, social accommodation experience to cost-conscious travellers in Australia.
“We have torn up the rulebook and flipped budget accommodation on its head,” said Lylo Managing Director, Tim Alpe.
“Lylo Brisbane is meticulously designed based on real insights into what a social traveller needs, mixed with stylish finishes.
“Our first EVT property in Australia has been designed for travellers to stay in both an epic and affordable way by providing all the perks of communal and social travel with the privacy of their own comfortable sleeping space.”
Located at 142 Constance Street, Lylo Brisbane features a First Nations mural spanning its four-storey façade, in tribute to the local flora, fauna, and the Brisbane River, and multi-use communal spaces where travellers can meet, work and socialise.
The accommodation offering includes 82 self-contained pods – across a mix of 6 and 4-pod rooms, including female-only rooms – as well as three private King rooms with ensuites and two family/group rooms which feature a queen bed, two pods and ensuite.
Each pod features a King single bed, individual lighting, fan, and mirror, multiple power and USB ports, acoustic privacy screens and a nearby secure luggage locker.
The property also includes a rooftop space, shared kitchen, self-pouring beer, wine, and cocktails on tap, as well as a bespoke co-working space with free unlimited Wi-Fi, and a wellness area.
EVT said there are plans to open additional Lylo sites, including a flagship development on the Gold Coast and a location in Fremantle, with opening dates to be announced.
“We cannot wait to open Lylo Brisbane and are excited for more Lylo sites in Australia over the coming years,” Alpe said.
