EVT Hotels and Resorts has signed a deal with Invictus Developments to manage The Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale and Harbour Rocks Hotel in Sydney, under a new brand to be launched within the Independent Collection by EVT (ICbE) later this year.
Announcing the partnership exclusively to HM, EVT revealed that there are plans to extend the partnership further, with experienced hospitality leader and former QT Canberra GM, Joel Gordon, appointed to oversee the multi-hotel collection as Group General Manager. Gordon will also serve as General Manager at The Old Clare Hotel.
EVT’s Director of Hotel and Resorts Operations Norman Arundel described the hotels as “Sydney accommodation icons” and said they will be a valuable addition to the EVT portfolio.
“We appreciate the confidence Invictus Developments’ has in selecting these hotels to be part of the Luxe tier of the Independent Collection,” Arundel said.
“The Old Clare and Harbour Rocks Hotels are Sydney accommodation icons and will be valued additions to the Independent Collection by EVT which continues to deliver results for owners through a flexible and adaptable model for any property type.”
The Independent Collection by EVT includes 19 hotels across a variety of market segments, from luxe to comfort, and allows owners to keep or create their own independent brand, while leveraging EVT’s scale and expertise.
Invictus Developments Principal, Chayadi Karim, said the partnership aligns with the company’s strategy to grow its hotel investments.
“We are committed to growth and investment within the Australian hotel sector and are excited to accelerate this strategic focus in partnership with EVT,” Karim said.
“The properties have a rich, iconic history and we know EVT’s end-to-end capability will align with our future vision for these hotels.
“These Invictus hotels will form part of a new brand within the Independent Collection, to be announced later this year.”
