W Melbourne has welcomed five new team members to managerial and sales roles within the hotel.
Teigan Slater is Director of Sales and Distribution; Macey Button is a new Account Director; Sherena Mulgrave has been appointed Wedding and Social Sales Manager; Jess Hall and Ken Price take up Sales Manager roles.
“We’re proud to welcome this new wave of talent to W Melbourne. As General Manager, it’s thrilling to watch how new energy can motivate new ideas and drive the passion to deliver exceptional guest experiences,” said W Melbourne General Manager, Krister Svensson.
As Director of Sales and Distribution, Slater – who brings a strong background in hotel luxury and lifestyle sales – will spearhead sales and distribution strategies at W Melbourne.
“At W Melbourne, we recognise that success is not just about achieving short-term goals but also about laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and long-term success,” said Slater.
“With this in mind, I am eager to collaborate with our talented team to identify emerging trends, anticipate guest needs, and innovate across all touchpoints of the guest journey. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, challenge conventions, and redefine the standards of luxury and lifestyle hospitality in Melbourne and beyond.”
Macey Button joins W Melbourne, following a five-year career with Marriott International, which has seen her work across complex sales coordination at Sheraton Melbourne, Westin Melbourne, Four Points by Sheraton Docklands and Marriott Docklands Hotel. In 2022, she held the role of Sales Manager at Marriott Docklands Hotel before being promoted to Senior Business Development Manager for the hotel, alongside AC by Marriott Hotel in 2023.
Sherena Mulgrave has worked in the wedding industry for over 14 years, across all aspects of wedding planning, and brings a vast and diverse knowledge of the wedding landscape.
“The W brand is known for providing exceptional service, including personalised attention to guests’ needs and preferences,” Mulgrave said.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to contribute and guide brides on their special day.”
Jess Hall brings over eight years of premium hotel experience, including Intercontinental Melbourne The Rialto, to her new role, while Ken Price joins following an established career in the hotel industry spanning over six years.
Choice hires development and investment leaders
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac is expanding its investments and development team, led by Head of Investments and Portfolio Growth, Trent Conroy, with two new appointments.
Adil Moosa has been appointed Senior Manager, Corporate Development, and David Silcock has been named Senior Manager, Development Australia New Zealand.
Moosa has spent more than a decade in corporate development and investment banking, where he executed more than AU$20 billion in transactions across a range of sectors. In this role, he will be tasked with identifying “high growth, strategically aligned investment opportunities”.
Silcock has almost 20 years of experience in real estate, including residential, commercial and franchising.
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO Trent Fraser said the development and investment-led divisions will work together under a single strategic vision to accelerate Choice’s portfolio growth.
“These new appointments, combined with existing in-house expertise, mark a pivotal moment as we accelerate our growth trajectory. We’re well-positioned to drive value creation for our franchisees and stakeholders,” Fraser said.
“Our strategic vision is clear and with the depth of experience in this new team we’re confident we can continue to navigate the evolving hotel landscape and capitalise on emerging more opportunities.”
Moosa and Silcock join established Choice Hotels development team members Dean Bagley and Peter Doherty and Choice Hotels Revenue Manager Tavinder Singh, who also joins the team in the newly formed Investment and Development Manager role.
“I’m thrilled to have such a talented group of people working together to drive growth,” said Conroy, who joined the business in May 2023.
“We’re combining a comprehensive understanding of the hotel industry and a forward-thinking approach to expansion, so we’re well-equipped to unlock new opportunities.”
