Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast has unveiled a freshly renovated Pearls Bar, nearly 40 years on from its establishment, marking the first major move by new owners the Karedis and Laundy families.
An integral part of the resort since the hotel was built in 1987, the bar was originally known as Breakers Bar and was the guests’ go-to piano and cigar lounge, according to General Manager, Keith Massey.
The latest refurbishment brings a modern luxury experience to locals and guests.
“As times changed, Pearls Bar naturally evolved alongside the resort,” said Massey.
“The last refurbishment was in 2013, [when] the venue was named Pearls Bar.
“It’s no surprise the renovation of Pearls Bar marks the resort’s first step in its journey under new ownership.
“We know this hotel plays a large part in the Gold Coast’s history, and has been central in many key milestones and memories for locals and travellers.”
The new-look Pearls Bar features rich jewelled tones inspired by the resort’s tropical surrounds.
A new menu designed, with a premium guest experience in mind, features a selection of locally sourced produce.
“From seasonal farm-fresh ingredients to local artisanal creations, each ingredient on the menu tells a story of Queensland’s culinary excellence and celebrates the rich tapestry of flavours unique to the Gold Coast and its surrounds,” said Executive Chef, Christopher Dodds.
“The new menu is inspired by the concept that food brings people closer together, creating connections through shared experiences enjoyed over a meal. We hope to bring our guests, both local and international travellers, an experience like no other and one that’s unique to the beautiful coast that we call home.
“We’re also excited to welcome an extensive beverage selection featuring handcrafted cocktails, premium wines, and artisanal spirits. Crafted with precision by our team of expert mixologists, the new cocktail menu features several luxurious, designer cocktails including our ‘Pancho’s Pearls’ crafted with Patrón el Cielo Tequila, Crème de Pêche, Perrier Jouet Champagne, citrus and served with peach pearls.”
Pearls Bar is set to host a variety of events including elevated High Teas, Locals Nights, Sunset Sessions, seasonal events and curated food and beverage tastings.
“Looking forward, we cannot be more excited to celebrate with our valued guests as we innovate and redefine Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast,” Massey said.
