Global hospitality developers and conservationists have united to launch the Nature Resort Development Alliance (NRDA), a world-first organisation intended to protect natural wonders.

Guided by a council of global experts including esteemed UN researchers and specialists in sustainability, environment, design, and tourism operations, the NRDA will equip industry leaders to drive the sustainable development and management of nature resorts worldwide.

“We are truly excited to launch the Nature Resort Development Alliance as it marks a critical turning point for the global Nature-based Hospitality industry,” said NRDA Co-Founder and CEO, Damon Farrell.

“Through our alliance, we will set new standards in sustainable development and conservation, fostering a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to preserving our planet’s natural beauty and biodiversity.”

In compliance with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) best practices, NRDA, in collaboration with world renowned university partners, will give leaders access to education, best practices, governance, and guidance across critical areas such as sustainability, biodiversity, design, habitat preservation, and operational excellence.

“At the NRDA, we believe that by working together, the industry can achieve unprecedented levels of sustainability and environmental stewardship,” said, NRDA Director of Latin America, Alejandra Dammer.

“Our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and WTTO best practices underscores our dedication to this mission.”

The NRDA is an exclusive collaboration that brings together landowners, developers, designers, financiers, and operators for the exchange of ideas, resources and expertise.

“This alliance represents a unique opportunity for the industry to not only excel in providing exceptional guest experiences in some of the world’s most beautiful places, but to do so in a way that is ethical, sustainable, and enriching for local economies and local ecosystems,” said Jason Parry, Director of Hospitality.

“The NRDA’s commitment to collaborative effort streamlines the development process, making it easier for stakeholders to achieve their sustainability goals while delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

Members from all sectors of the nature-based hospitality industry, including resorts, development firms, and operations ranging from glamping sites and boutique hotels through to ultra-luxury resorts and experiential based adventure tour operators, are encouraged to join.
