Trilogy Hotels has secured management of three additional hotels in Sydney’s west, expanding its partnership with two prominent hotel owners.
Novotel Sydney Parramatta, Mercure Sydney Parramatta and Leura Gardens Resort are the latest hotels to join Trilogy, taking its portfolio to 10.
The 194-room Novotel Sydney Parramatta and 165-room Mercure Sydney Parramatta are both owned by the Huang family, which has now assigned four of its Sydney hotels to Trilogy including Holiday Inn Sydney Airport – an agreement that commenced in July and will see the property rebranded to Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport – and Crowne Plaza Macquarie Park from 2025.
Leura Gardens Resort in Sydney’s Blue Mountains was recently purchased by Schwartz Family Company, Australia’s largest privately-owned hotel group, with the deal finalised last week.
Trilogy will commence operations at the Parramatta hotels in September with both assets remaining under their respective Accor branding through a franchise agreement.
“We sincerely thank [owners] Frank and Wade for their continued faith in our team and model,” said Trilogy Hotels CEO, Scott Boyes.
“We kickstart operations next month and look forward to helping realise the full potential of each asset, driving bottom line performance and efficiencies by operating the four hotels together.”
The Novotel property includes an outdoor heated swimming pool, steam room, gym, sundeck, restaurant and bar, as well as one of the largest columnless ballrooms in Parramatta with over 915sqm of conference space. The Mercure property features a restaurant and bar, gym, swimming pool, tennis court and four meeting rooms.
Speaking of the ongoing partnership, Huang family portfolio owner and director, Frank Huang, said having the Trilogy Hotels team run operations has been very rewarding.
“We are pleased to have signed another two hotels, allowing us to connect with our guests in greater and more personalised ways,” he said.
The 93-room Leura Gardens Resort is the fifth Schwartz Family Company property that Trilogy has signed, joining Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains, Mercure Sydney Railway Square, Ibis Sydney World Square and Mercure Canberra.
The resort underwent an extensive refurbishment last year and now includes multiple conference and event spaces as well as premium sports training facilities.
Schwartz Family Company Owner and Director, Dr Jerry Schwartz, said the resort holds a special place in his heart.
“Leura Gardens Resort remains a special place for my family with so many fond memories of holidaying there with my parents back in the 1970s,” said Schwartz.
“The hotel is rich in history and atmosphere, with its famed gardens create back in the 1920s for Lady Mabel Fairfax.
“The gardens remain a central attraction in the resort’s four and a half acres of grounds, and we look forward to working with Trilogy to re-establish the property as a first-choice Blue Mountains hotel for couples, families, groups and conferences.”
Boyes thanked Schwartz for choosing Trilogy to operate the resort.
“It is not lost on Trilogy the importance of this hotel to Jerry and his family and we will be operating the hotel with this in mind,” he said.
“While we’ve only just begun operations, we have great plans in the pipeline for Leura Gardens, capitalising on the nearby Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains. We can now provide a mix of different venues and experience s across Schwartz assets in the Blue Mountains, cementing their position as a leading destination for leisure and conference guests in the region.”
The resort will remain unbranded with Siteminder providing a complete channel management solution which includes taking bookings. Trilogy plans to enhance the property’s food and beverage offering to drive greater returns.
