Radisson Hotel Group’s upper-midscale Park Inn by Radisson is set to make its arrival on Australian shores later this year with the opening of a Carlton hotel in partnership with Frater Capital Group.
Park Inn by Radisson Melbourne Carlton, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2024, will offer a contemporary and fully connected hotel experience in a newly converted property in Parkville, following a complete renovation and redesign.
The hotel will feature 89 guest rooms – ranging from the 25sqm Standard rooms to 34sqm Deluxe rooms – with signature “Sleep Well” bedding and contemporary furnishings, and facilities including a gym, pool, two meeting rooms, all-day dining restaurant and café.
With Melbourne garnering 10.3 million overnight visitors in 2023, RHG Director, Development, Australasia, Victor Kondarios, said the city is the perfect base for this brand debut.
“We are excited for this opportunity to introduce Park Inn by Radisson to Australia,” said Kondarios.
“Melbourne is one of the world’s most iconic cities with attractions for business and leisure travellers.
“Frater Capital Group is a strong company looking to grow its hotel portfolio. We are delighted to enter into this relationship with them, which includes a full range of support services such as revenue management, sales and marketing.
“We look forward to developing more hotels together in the future as we continue to expand across Australia.”
A representative of Star Capital Group, parent of Frater Capital Group Pty Ltd, said the contemporary hotel is “the ideal market introduction to this upper-midscale brand”.
“We have plans to continue to expand our hotel portfolio in Australasia and we eagerly anticipate further opportunities for collaboration with Radisson,” they added.
Park Inn by Radisson Melbourne Carlton marks the group’s third hotel in Australia, and fifth in Australasia, with additional hotels under construction.
The portfolio includes Radisson Hotel on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Sydney, Radisson Blu Denarau Fiji, and Grand Papua a member of Radisson Individuals in Port Moresby.
