BWH Hotels is set to add another economy soft brand hotel to its portfolio with the signing of City Oasis Inn Townsville, SureStay Collection by Best Western in Northern Queensland.

City Oasis Inn has been operating independently in the region for over 40 years as a family partnership and is set to benefit from BWH’s distribution, revenue management, and sales and marketing programs from September 2024.

The property – located at 143 Wills Street, 900 metres from the 25,000-capacity Queensland Country Bank Stadium – will maintain its current branding under BWH Hotels’ SureStay Collection by Best Western.

“We are thrilled to welcome BWH’s second SureStay Collection hotel in Queensland,” said BWH Hotels Managing Director of Australasia, Rod Munro.

“The growth of the economy segment over the last 12 months has rapidly accelerated to meet the needs of today’s travellers.

“With its proximity to a major events venue, City Oasis Inn is the preferred choice for guests travelling to Townsville to see the Cowboys, local events and even Magnetic Island.

“The hotel is in a prime location to cater to leisure guests and business travellers needing a place to stay.”

City Oasis Inn will feature a range of accommodation offerings including pet-friendly room options, rooms with kitchenettes and a two-bedroom Miners Cottage built in the 1880s.
The hotel features a swimming pool, cafe, tropical gardens and gym.

“We’re confident BWH will honour the unique character of City Oasis Inn while elevating the guest experience to boost our property,” said hotel owner and operator, Brendan Carter.

“The BWH team have displayed their flexibility in orchestrating an adaptable brand partnership that allows our hotel to maintain its own identity.

“This was a key factor in our decision to align with the brand. We look forward to tapping into BWH’s high standards of hospitality and globally renowned loyalty program to attract new guests.”

The property is slated to be BWH’s second SureStay Collection property in Queensland and its sixth in Australasia.
