InterContinental Wellington has completed a major refurbishment spanning its guest rooms and health club, ‘bringing a new level of luxury wellness to the heart of Wellington’, according to General Manager, Adam Haywood.

All 79 Classic Rooms, including eight accessible rooms, have been re-styled in collaboration with Auckland-based interior architecture and design studio Y-6.

New soft furnishings including beds, sofas, premium linens and plush carpets have been introduced, while bathrooms have been upgraded with porcelain tiles, black chrome fittings, double rain shower heads and thermostatic mixers for consistent water temperature.

InterContinental Wellington’s new-look Health Club features a spacious new layout and modernised design.

It is home to the largest hotel pool in Wellington, retiled with handmade Italian mosaic tiles and enclosed by conservatory-style windows.

 An infrared sauna – by state-of-the-art Nu-a IV sauna by Found Space – and an ice bath plunge pool have also been introduced. The gymnasium, which is accessible at all hours, features the latest Technogym equipment and weightlifting stations.
