BWH Hotels names new lead for China

BWH Hotels has named Harry Dong as the new President and CEO of BWH Hotels China (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan), Mongolia, and Nepal, following in the footsteps of his father, William Dong, who previously held this role.

Having worked with the company over 16 years, Dong has experience in managing procurement, quality analysis and project development for property hotels in this region.

“I am honored to be taking on the leadership role for BWH Hotels China,” Dong said.

“This company has been part of my family for decades, and I’m proud to carry on the legacy of my father, William Dong.

“Thank you to my father for trusting me and for his hard work and commitment that brought the company to where it is today. I am committed to showing hoteliers and customers our commitment to excellence and look forward to taking on new challenges.”

Former President and CEO of BWH Hotels China, William Dong said he looks forward to watching his son bring new and innovative ideas to BWH Hotels China.

“His commitment to treating the team with care and respect will continue to help the company grow,” he said.

“I have no doubt under his leadership the company will prosper.”

BWH Hotels operates 10 hotels in the region, and a growing pipeline of properties, under 19 brands. Dong will be responsible for the development strategy for new properties and supporting the already established hotels in his region.  

President of WorldHotels and International Operations for BWH Hotels, Ron Pohl, welcomed Dong to the new position.

Capstone announces several key appointments

Vidan Zivic

New Zealand’s Capstone Hotel Management has announced five key appointments alongside the opening of an Auckland office.

Sadiyya Ismail

Vidan Zivic has been appointed North Island Area Manager. Having started his hospitality career in Canada. Zivic has worked in independent restaurants and held several managerial roles at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. He moved to New Zealand to be part of the opening team at Abstract Hotel and Residences in Auckland, managed by Capstone.

Isha Toora

Sadiyya Ismail has been appointed Group Revenue Manager, overseeing performance and grow market share and revenue across the entire Capstone portfolio. Ismail brings a wealth of experience in revenue management and hotels having previously worked with Expedia Group and Hilton.

Rachelle Parkins

Isha Toora takes up the newly created role of Group Marketing Manager, responsible for marketing, media and PR across the Capstone portfolio. Toora brings a strong background in digital marketing strategy, management and e-commerce working across multiple clients and accounts.

Rachelle Parkins has been promoted to the role of Director of Sales, after 18 months as sales executive. Prior to this, Parkins was Guest Services Manager at Kaiteriteri Reserve, managed by Capstone. Earlier in her career, she worked at Millennium Hotels and Resorts New Zealand, progressing to the position of general manager. 

Svetlana (Lana) Tsykina has been appointed to the newly created role Auckland Accounts Administrator. She will work with Capstone’s Auckland area hotels and report to the Director of Finance.
