A $40 million mixed-use Quest property is slated to open in Victoria’s East Gippsland region next winter, with construction well underway.
On Thursday, key representatives from Quest Apartment Hotels joined developer Dahlsens, project builder BFN Developments and Architects from Fenton Design Group at the site of Quest Bairnsdale to discuss the progress of the development.
The new 60-room Quest Bairnsdale, on Dalmahoy Street, will feature 30 studio rooms, 24 one-bedroom rooms – both with accessible options – and six two-bedroom rooms.
Construction is progressing well with works now underway on the third/top floor. The property is set to be completed by June/July 2025.
“We’re delighted to mark another key milestone in Quest Apartment Hotels’ ongoing growth, with construction of Quest Bairnsdale now underway,” said The Ascott Limited Australasia Managing Director, David Mansfield.
“The Gippsland region is experiencing extraordinary growth, and Quest is delighted to be supporting that demand through the provision of exceptional hospitality experiences.”
Mansfield said the hotel will bring much-needed accommodation to the region.
“East Gippsland’s visitor numbers increased by 26% for the 2023 year on the prior year, according to Tourism Research Australia, with an estimated 1.71 million visitors, the highest figure ever recorded, and we know anecdotally that growth has continued,” he said.
“Quest Bairnsdale will not only contribute to the local economy but also set a new standard for luxury and convenience. We are excited about the opportunities it brings for our guests and the local community.
“Our goal remains to achieve significant growth targets under the ‘2030 growth strategy,’ aiming to reach over 200 Quest properties and 30 managed hotels by the end of the decade.
“We are proud to work with Dahlsens, BFN Developments and Architects Fenton Design Group on this project. Their expertise and dedication ensure that this development will meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.”
