Marriott is set to tap into Adelaide’s growing MICE market with the recent opening of four dedicated event spaces at its city centre hotel.

Located within the historic GPO building, the hotel’s events offering span a total of 762 sqm and can cater for parties ranging between 20 to 250 people.

Sir Charles Todd Ballroom

The pillarless Sir Charles Todd Ballroom – named after the creator of the Overland Telegraph Line – spans 295 sqm, with a vertical sound absorbing partitioning system offering a flexible space that can host up to 250 people when fully opened or up to 120 people with a dance floor.

The ballroom, adjacent to a pre-function area, features 4-meter-high ceilings, arch lighting accents, state-of-the-art AV integration features, including a 220-inch LED wall.

The Light Room

The Archive Room can accommodate up to 120 guests for a cocktail event or 80 seated and can be split into two smaller, adjacent spaces, with separate entry points.

The Light Room, named after Colonel William Light, who designed Adelaide’s park-framed city layout, is true to its name offering floor-to-ceiling natural light and can accommodate up to 30 guests for smaller meetings.

The Drawing Room

The Drawing Room, located inside the GPO’s heritage section, is designed to host private dining events, board meetings and team-building breakouts with capacity for up to 20 people.

Alongside its meeting and events offering, the hotel features Penny Blue restaurant offering Modern Australian cuisine and Exchange Lane, an all-day bar.
