Heritage and innovation collide in ReFormation, the new Wire Wilton carpet collection by Modieus. Inspired by textile pioneers, its bold geometric patterns and modern hues redefine classic design for today’s commercial spaces.
Modieus celebrate traditional craftsmanship with the launch of ReFormation, a carpet collection inspired by the enduring excellence of Wire Wilton weaving. Designed for performance, ReFormation is a reimagined Wilton, with innovative colour and pattern combinations.
“The name ReFormation reflects the inspiration behind the collection”, explains Leah Manwaring, Designer at Modieus. “By weaving history into our designs, we celebrate the artistry of the past while pushing the boundaries of modern carpet design.”
The collection embodies Wire Wilton’s core characteristics: dense plush pile, durability, and timeless elegance. The five chapters are named after a historical figure who shaped carpet and textile design.
Annie – Inspired by Annie Frances Garnett, who revived hand-spinning and weaving in England’s Lake District. This chapter features interlocking geometric rectangles in cut and loop pile to create an intricate basket-weave effect.
Henry – Named after Henry Herbert, 9th Earl of Pembroke, who introduced French weaving expertise to England. Is a new take on a structured plaid with textured grid-like lines.
May – A tribute to May Morris, a leading Arts and Crafts designer. A modern tartan with a series of wide stripes, alternating between lighter, mid and darker shades.
John – Honours John Henry Dearle of Morris & Co. The design in this chapter has a strong linear emphasis, resembling a raised loop stripe and finished like a textured, quilted fabric
Charles – Inspired by C.F.A. Voysey, a revolutionary designer known for harmonious colour palettes. The geometric pattern of broken stripes reveals layers of subtle textures, creating a truly versatile design.
“With ReFormation, we honour the icons of our industry while infusing fresh, modern colour palettes and geometric motifs,” says Debra Ryan, Designer at Modieus.
Crafted in an 80% wool, 20% nylon blend, ReFormation offers beauty and resilience. “At Modieus, we push design boundaries while delivering quality and excellence,” adds Founder Xander Okhuizen.
