The Langham, Sydney welcomes new Managing Director
Harvey Thompson has been appointed Managing Director of The Langham, Sydney, reporting to Langham Hospitality Group Regional Vice President of Operations, Pacific, Jeffrey Van Vorsselen.
Thompson joined Langham Hospitality group in 2022, serving as General Manager of Eaton Hong Kong, as well as Managing Director of Eaton Workshop – a role which he will continue, in a bid to drive the development and growth of the Eaton brand.
At The Langham, Sydney, Thompson will be tasked with driving luxury at the boutique hotel.

Millennium Hotels recruits experienced sales and partnerships leader
Millennium Hotels and Resorts has welcomedMelanie Beattieas Vice President of Sales and Partnerships for New Zealand.
Millennium operates or franchises 18 hotels across New Zealand and owns the Sofitel Brisbane Central Hotel in Australia.
Experienced in driving growth, channel sales performance, and strategic partnerships, Beattie joins from Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited, where she served as Head of Distribution. She has previously held key senior roles at ASB Bank, Ernst & Young, and IBM, spanning business development, partnerships, and revenue generation.
“After a rewarding journey with Fidelity Life – highlighted by great people and fantastic partnerships – I am excited to take on the role of Vice President of Sales and Partnerships at Millennium Hotels and Resorts,” said Beattie.

The appointment comes as Millennium Hotels and Resorts continues to refurbish a significant portion of its portfolio to capitalise on New Zealand’s growing tourism sector.

Pullman Sydney Penrith appoints new GM
Charles (Charlie) Young has been appointed to the role of General Manager at Pullman Sydney Penrith and Western Sydney Convention Centre (WSCC).
Young brings over 30 years of experience in hospitality and hotel management from diverse international and local markets, most recently serving as General Manager of Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains – MGallery Collection.
With a track record of growing established hotels and launching new brands in emerging markets, Young brings knowledge, expertise and leadership, as well as a deep understanding of the local area.
“What attracted me to Pullman Sydney Penrith and the WSCC is the new life and energy we are infusing into the community,” said Young.
“I’m especially looking forward to WSCC becoming a key player in attracting large events and conventions to Penrith, injecting vitality and attention into Western Sydney.”
Young will oversee the continued development of the $110 million precinct, with a focus on expanding Pullman Sydney Penrith, operated by Trilogy Hotels, and the WSCC’s success in the region.
