The Langham, Gold Coast hires three key leaders
The Langham, Gold Coast has welcomed three experienced personnel to its team, including a new General Manager, Arpad Romandy, and leaders across F&B and HR.
In a hospitality career spanning over 30 years, Romandy has held roles with InterContinental Hotels Group across England, Spain, and the United States, as well as Shangri-La Sydney and most recently, as General Manager of InterContinental Hayman Island Resort.
Reporting to The Langham Hospitality Group’s Regional Vice President, Operations, Jeffrey van Vorsselen, Romandy will oversee all areas of hotel operations, from finance to human resources.

Joining Romandy’s team is Mark Marshall as Executive Chef.
Marshall joins from Mulpha Hospitality where he served as Hospitality Operations Manager, overseeing the group’s luxury hotels, wineries and standalone restaurants.
Boasting over 20 years of culinary experience, Marshall has served at Michelin-starred establishments including The Savoy Grill by Gordon Ramsay in London.
He will be charged with leading a review and relaunch of the hotel’s dining offerings spanning its six restaurants and bars.

Responsible for people and culture at the Gold Coast hotel is Megan Reid, who has been appointed Director of Human Resources, reporting to Romandy.
Reid brings a wealth of experience with past roles at Ardent Leisure and Mulpha Hotels, leading their hotel portfolio including, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort and InterContinental Sydney.
Hyatt Place Melbourne welcomes new General Manager
Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields has appointed Scott Williams as General Manager.
Over 25 years in the hospitality industry, Williams has led luxury brands across multiple continents and has led numerous successful transformation projects under prestigious hotel brands across Australia and Asia Pacific.
He brings expertise in operations, guest services and strategic management, an ability to develop and mentor high-performing teams and a proven track record in managing multiple properties and delivering on revenue targets, according to his new employer.
“His innovative approaches and strategic insights have consistently resulted in new revenue streams and enhanced market positions, even in the most challenging and competitive environments,” a statement from the hotel read.
Williams described the opportunity as “an incredible honor”.
“It’s an incredible honor to lead a hotel that holds a special place in the community, and I’m excited explore new opportunities to elevate the guest experience and strengthen our ties with the local community within Essendon Fields,” he said.
“Together, we will create a welcoming environment that feels like home for every guest who walks through our doors.”
Essendon Fields CEO, Brendan Pihan, warmly welcomed Wiliams to the team.

New leadership at Outrigger Kaua‘i Beach Resort and Spa
At Outrigger Hospitality Group, Christine (Chris) San Nicolas takes up the role of General Manager at Outrigger Kaua‘i Beach Resort and Spa, effective immediately.
A longstanding Outrigger employee, San Nicolas has spent more than 25 years with the company, first joining in 1999 as Assistant Director of Financial Services at Outrigger Guam Beach Resort.
In 2016, she transitioned to the role of Director of Human Resources, before moving to O’ahu in 2020 to serve as Senior Director of HR for Outrigger Hospitality Group.
In 2021, San Nicolas commenced a new role as the Director of HR for Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa, before being quickly promoted to Resort Manager, overseeing all operational aspects of the property.
In this new role, she will be responsible for driving excellence across all areas of operations and will also collaborate with Outrigger’s global marketing team to ensure a cohesive brand presence.
