Foxtel reports exceptional feedback from hoteliers and noteworthy changes to guest viewing patterns post upgrade.
Over 600 hotels and resorts across Australia have taken their in-room entertainment system to the next level with the latest innovative technology upgrade from Foxtel Business iQ.
With an enhanced user interface – easily customizable to each hotel – seamless navigation and a bespoke digital concierge, the complimentary upgrade gives hoteliers even more opportunities to communicate with guests, promote services and drive revenue through increased transactions.
Foxtel, which counts The Star Grand Brisbane and soon to be installed – Hamilton Island among its notable customers, is continuing to win favour with both hoteliers and guests. With 10 million Australians watching Foxtel Group every month, the entertainment leader is enjoying continuous year-on year-growth.
Foxtel Business National Manager – Accommodation, Scott Wiedemann, said the feedback on the latest evolution of Business iQ has been ‘exceptional’.
“Our customers have talked glowingly about the new interactive design – it’s engaging, visually appealing, and very user friendly” Wiedemann said.
The ease at which hoteliers can customise the platform to promote their in-house services is another major benefit.
“It helps engage guests and create greater upsell opportunities to offset operational expenditure,” Wiedemann said.
What are guests watching?
With 20,000 hours of movies and TV shows, 50+ sports live, 24-hour global news coverage and the ability to cast from their device via Business iQ, Foxtel gives guests endless choice when it comes to in-room entertainment.
Following the roll-out of Foxtel’s new Business iQ, video-on-demand usage has tripled, now accounting for 15% usage.
While On Demand continues to grow, Foxtel says viewing of live channels continues to dominate, accounting for 80% viewership, with casting sitting at 5%.
With the commencement of a major new sporting deal next year, footy fans have even more reason to tune into Foxtel.
Starting from 2025, Foxtel will continue to broadcast all nine AFL and AFLW matches a round but with its own commentary team under a new agreement, with reduced matches shown on free-to-air TV on Saturdays.
Foxtel is continually reinvesting its offering in line with Australians viewing habits and hoteliers’ expectations to remain at the forefront of in-room tech solutions.
“We will continue to evolve the platform with cutting-edge technology to make it the best it can be for our customers,” Wiedemann added.
